Pleinair is a character in all three Disgaea games. She was created by Harada Takehito, the man responsible for designing characters in Disgaea and other Nippon Ichi games. In Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, Plenair was the NPC to talk to the enter the Dark Assembly. In Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories, She was shown giving news with her doll, Usagi, via signs. In Disgaea DS, she will be an unlockable playable character by losing to mid-boss at anytime, starting a new game, talking to her at the Dark assembly and choosing the blank option. In Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice, She will reprise her role in Disgaea 1 as the Dark Assembly NPC.
Harada Takehito is an artist employed by Nippon Ichi whose art has been featured in video games such as Disgaea, Phantom Brave, and Makai Kingdom. His art style has been described as "crazy and bizarre" and features everything from cute pre-teen demons, to freaky pigs in royal clothing. His signature character, Pleinair, has appeared in Disgaea and Phantom Brave. Along with his work for Nippon Ichi, Harada has published several doujinshi under the name of Haradaya.
