what is a fanlisting?

"A fanlisting is simply an online listing of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join." -- TFL.org

Simply enough, this is a fanlisting for the relationship between Yoshida and Suzu! =)

yoshida

Name: Yoshida Toshimaro
Seiyuu: Suwabe Junichi

Caution: certain spoilers ahead

Yoshida is a character from Chrono Nanae's anime and manga series Shinsengumi Imon Peacemaker and Peacemaker Kurogane. In SIPM, Yoshida acts as the main antagonist and the behind-the-scenes conspirator for the Choshu. Aside for working alongside with Yoshida Shoin and other famous Choshu radicals (Choshu = against the Emperor; for more information, you should learn about the Bakumatsu Era of Japan~), he is characterized by is cool, stoic personality, often putting on a sadistic side when he kills. Some, like Hijikata Toushizo of the Shinsengumi, would call him a madman, but many, like Suzu, admired Yoshida for his ways and power. However, by the end of SIPM, he is killed and continues on in PMK as... a black lacquered skull. XD;

suzu

Name: Kitamura Suzu
Seiyuu: Yuka Imai

Caution: certain spoilers ahead

Suzu is yet another character from both of Nanae's Shinsengumi Imon Peacemaker Kurogane and Peacemaker Kurogane. In SIPM, Suzu acts as Yoshida's page, following him around with absolute loyalty and admiration. The reason for this is because after the death of his older brother, which was caused by the Shinsengumi, Yoshida comes upon the crying Suzu and takes him in, promising Suzu that he will have the chance to exact revenge on the Mibu ronin (another name for the Shinsengumi). Suzu looks up to Yoshida as his "sensei", or teacher, and wishes one day to become of some use to him and the Choshu. After Yoshida's death, however, Suzu plummets into a path of despair and revenge, and by PMK, he becomes a completely different boy than from SIPM. With only his sensei's skull, Suzu becomes the antagonist of PMK...

relationship

In conclusion, the two of them are like teacher and student, with Yoshida as the master and Suzu as the loyal servant (if I must put it that way). Although one may overanalyze this relationship and call it "shota" (sexual complex where an adult is attracted to an underage boy), I personally like the way Suzu admires Yoshida and how Suzu's personality completely changes once Yoshida is killed. So for me, it's all G-rated. XD;

The two of them are first introduced in the anime, Peacemaker Kurogane, in episode 7, "Suzu". In the manga, Shinsengumi Imon Peacemaker, they are introduced in volume 2, chapter 9, "All I've Got to Do". Now the reason for the fanlisting's title was that in volume 3 of Peacemaker Kurogane, Suzu tells Tetsu that he wanted to paint his sensei's skull a "high-quality red lacquer, but sensei always liked black", thus the whole motif of black and red. (lol)
